Dinner Key Marina, Coconut Grove (Miami)
by Travis McDowell
I have lived aboard several times at Dinner Key. It is a genuine liveaboard community. Not only are there more slips than just about any other place in Florida, there is also a large mooring field out in Biscayne Bay that allows liveaboards.
Everything in Coconut Grove is within walking distance: library, restaurants, lounges, historic features, art galleries, shops. It is a very pleasant place to live. The marina is owned by the City of Miami. Every now and then the restrooms need some attention. It's best to visit them in the very early morning or later in the day.
